The Nightjet is the overnight train operated by ÖBB (Austrian Railways).

With the ÖBB Nightjet trains, you can travel overnight in a climate-friendly and comfortable way to the most beautiful cities and destinations in Europe.

Sit back and relax as you glide past the traffic jams

The ÖBB Nightjet safely takes you and your car or motorcycle to your destination.

Current changes in Nightjet traffic

Concerns trains between Austria-Germany, Switzerland-Germany, connections from/ to Italy, from/ to Amsterdam and from/ to Brussels.

Due to the travel restrictions caused by the corona pandemic, we are reducing the Nightjet traffic to probably end of May 2021 - for exact dates see list under "Details on those affected Links".

ÖBB fully understands all local and national measures that are being taken to contain the corona pandemic, but must react appropriately to this circumstance in view of the high travel barriers.

Passengers on the affected Nightjet connections will of course be reimbursed the ticket price or can rebook connections during day-time. Please contact our ÖBB customer service on 05 1717-9 (for tickets purchased from ÖBB) or the respective partner railway/ sales point.

Note

As a precautionary measure, no bookings are currently possible for the trains concerned for the travel days from mid-January to the end of March - for exact dates, see the list under "Details of the affected connections". From the currents perspective, these trains will not run during the period mentioned. However, as soon as travel warnings are lifted, we plan to resume the corresponding Nightjet connections earlier.

Together for a safe journey in the ÖBB Nightjet and EuroNight

The safety of our passengers and employees is particularly important to us - please observe the following rules of conduct for safe travel.

Please inform yourself in good time about the current timetables, official regulations, entry requirements and the comprehensive hygiene measures of your destination country before starting your journey. You can find information on this, for example, at: www.bmeia.gv.at / www.oesterreich.gv.at (in German language) . The required documents (e.g. proof of a negative Corona test) can be checked on the train:

  • PCR tests are valid for 72 hours from sample collection.
  • Antigen tests from an authorised body are valid 48 hours from sample collection.
  • Self-tests recorded in an official data processing system of the countries are valid for 24 hours.

Alternatively, proof for the categories "tested, vaccinated, recovered" can also be checked on the train, provided these are valid for entry into the destination country. Everyone is responsible for complying with these measures. The police are responsible for checking the legal requirements and any sanctions resulting from them.

The safety of our passengers and employees is of special concern to us - please note the following measures for a safe cooperation.
