Austria

Everything but stressful: Travelling Austria in comfort

The small country with its high mountains is known for its warmth and friendliness. Visitors can find it in the Viennese coffee houses in the east, as well as on a mountain pasture in the west of the country.

From many large cities in the neighbouring countries of Germany, Italy and Switzerland, it takes only a few quiet hours on the Nightjet to get to Austria. And there is lots to discover once you're there: In the capital city of Vienna you will not only encounter its world-famous historical charm, Ferris wheel and St. Stephen's Cathedral, but also everything that makes it a vibrant metropolis. Spend an afternoon in a café, stroll through the alleyways in the city centre or go on a culinary journey of discovery in one of the countless bars and restaurants.

The baroque city of Salzburg should be on every music and Mozart lovers’ list. The small and cosy university city of Graz is located a little further to the south. Walking along the Southern Styrian Wine Road; its lush green surroundings radiate an almost Mediterranean flair. For sports and mountain enthusiasts, the journey continues to the west, to the mountains around Innsbruck, whose Golden Roof landmark and surrounding mountains are waiting for you.

One thing will surely accompany you all through the country: the Austrian warmth and friendliness and a little deceleration.
