Even more comfort
To further optimise the level of comfort for our passengers, we are already working on the next generation of sleeper cabins and couchettes. They are scheduled to be taken into service in 2020.
You could see the first models of couchette and sleeper cabin compartments between 30 November and 15 December 2016 at the ÖBB headquarters at the Vienna Main Station. More than 600 people seized the change to test the beds on the Nightjet of the future and give us their feedback. Our customers’ valuable ideas and suggestions will help us to further optimise our design studies.
Cosy atmosphere and smart equipment
Both the new couchette and the new sleeper cars were very popular among the testers. Above all, the couchettes scored points with their pleasant and cosy atmosphere, their bright style, comfy beds, contemporary design as well as their equipment including power outlets, USB ports and wireless charging possibilities. The sleeper cabin convinced its visitors with its bathroom for personal use, the comfort of its compartments, its beautiful and contemporary design, large beds and technical equipment. Also positively mentioned several times were their lighting design, lounge-like seating and handy extending table.
